Can you adjust the alarm settings?
Yes, in the PowerChute software, UPSs that are connected to computers can have their sensitivity settings adjusted, as well as specify what hours you want to disable the alarm, if desired.
What is the lifespan of the battery, and does this UPS have a replacement?
Under normal use, the battery in the BE650G1 should have a lifespan of 3-5 years. When it's time to refresh the battery, APC offers a replacement battery cartridge (RBC) for the BE650G1 under part # RBC17.
How do you turn off the alarm?
You can temporarily mute some alarms (On Battery, Battery Disconnected and Overload) with a 1-2 second press of Power button, which mutes alarm until the condition is reset. Critical events (i.e. Battery replacement) require unit to be turned off.
How long will this UPS power my system when the power goes out?
Runtimes of any UPS will vary based on the amount of power required by your connected devices. In the PowerChute Software, you can see 'Estimated Battery Time' based on the power-draw of your connected devices.
Is it Ok to connect another power strip, surge protector or even another UPS into a UPS?
It is never recommended to 'daisy-chain' multiple power strips/surge protectors or multiple UPS'.

The 650VA floor/wall mount UPS has 8 total outlets, 4 of which are battery back up and surge protection, and 4 that are surge protection only. It has a surge energy rating of 340 Joules. This battery backup is designed to power wireless home networking devices (router and modem) for hours during utility outages so you can stay connected and productive. This computer backup offers lifetime guaranteed surge protection with a $75,000 equipment protection policy. The side of this 650VA UPS includes 2 keyhole sockets to easily mount the battery backup on a wall in hard to reach installations. The outlets are arranged with spaces to accommodate both average sized power plugs and transformer block power plugs. Use the included PowerChute software to configure settings and set up automatic graceful shutdown of a connected PC in the event of an extended power outage. Audible alarms provide notification of changing utility power and UPS conditions. Audible alarms can be muted. This UPS has a 3-year warranty and CE product certification.
