How It Works

The Gefen GF-EDD-UC USB-C EDID Detective is a plug-and-play solution that ensures reliable communication between your USB-C source and display. Simply connect it inline between your source device (laptop, docking station, or tablet) and your display cable. The device learns and stores the display's EDID information, ensuring the source always receives correct parameters-even if the monitor is powered off, disconnected, or switched away.

The GF-EDD-UC prevents blank screens, resolution resets, and desktop rearrangement by continuously presenting stored EDID data. Supports full USB 2.0 data pass-through and HDCP 2.3 content protection.

For custom setups, use the program button to capture EDID from a connected display or the USB-C port to load custom profiles and firmware updates. Select from five factory profiles or three programmable banks via DIP switches.
