This space-saving desktop switch transmits data over a Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) network. Eight auto-negotiating 10/100/1000 Mbps ports send data via Cat5e/6/6a/8 cable only to the computers, routers, hubs and other devices designated to receive it, which improves the efficiency and potential throughput of the network. Supports Power over Ethernet to Save You Money and Give You More Installation Choices

Because this network switch supports Type 2 PoE+, it can supply the power to operate compatible PoE devices, such as wireless LAN access points and bridges, VoIP phones and/or IP video cameras. This saves you the expense and effort of purchasing, connecting and installing individual power supplies for each device. It also helps you install PoE devices in areas far away from AC outlets, such as poles or ceilings. RJ45 ports support up to 30W per port with a total PoE budget of 140W.

Built-In Web Smart Management Software

The Web Smart software provides rich Layer 2 functionality for monitoring and controlling connected equipment via a simple web interface. VLAN, trunking, VPN, port monitoring and other features improve network efficiency and performance.

Dual Dedicated SFP Ports

Two GbE SFP ports connect to user-supplied SFP modules (sold separately) for uplinking data to other switches via optical fiber or copper. LEDs indicate interface traffic.

The NGS8C2POE-1 is browser-based and works independently from the connected computer's operating system. Because switch compatibility is based on common hardware standards, rather than system software dependencies, the NGS8C2POE-1 accommodates most platforms. Preferred web browsers include Google Chrome (on both Windows and macOS) and Microsoft Edge (Windows only).

Versatile Installation Options

The heavy-duty metal housing can be positioned on a level surface using the included rubber feet to minimize external vibration or mounted into 1U of an EIA-standard 19-inch rack using the included brackets and screws. The detachable C14 to C13 power cord connects to a protected UPS, generator or mains input AC source.
