2 star(s) Proprietary content - Not easy to dig around in

By mrstan from Arkansas on 2/20/2014

This is intriguing in that everything is in this collection from over 100 years ago to look at. The problem is though, the content is proprietary and you can not simply take stuff apart like look at books in adobe acrobat for example. This makes is not very portable if you are thinking about takes some key articles with you. I have been able to copy and paste text from it though... do not get me wrong. I was hoping for something that was a little more fluid and that I could break up into parts that were more usable.

To sit down and dig through it with their own proprietary system is not a bad task once you get used to it, and is quite interesting to see all the articles. Being able to break out articles in PDF format though would aid in research and reconstituting data into say kids research reports for school as an example. I often extrapolate articles from all kinds of time frames and issues to support research papers that I write... This compilation is just not well suited for this kind of process though sadely enough.

3 star(s) Cheaper direct from Nat. Geo ($19.99)

By ME from Bellevue WA on 1/28/2014

Will allow me to ditch all the hard copies or donate them to a school.

But you can buy it direct from the National Geographic website for $3 cheaper.
